Sunshine has long been recognized as essential for the bountiful growth of plants, yet few people realize humans need it as well, particularly for the synthesis of vital vitamin D. Despite this, governments all over the Western world have been warning us to shun the sun, when they should have been warning us to shun the junk food and oils that have caused our epidemic of skin cancers. Now these plastic oils are everywhere, and so is skin cancer, and it is no coincidence. These unnatural oils, along with all the other appalling junk people are eating and drinking, come out with sweat and, combined with the sun, contribute to skin cancer. But it’s not the fault of the sun – it’s the fault of the people who are foolish enough to eat junk. At the same time governments are bombarding us with horror stories about the danger of the sun, they are pushing sunscreens as if their budgets depend upon them. It makes you wonder just how much influence the manufacturers of sunscreens have on our lawmakers. Defying their edicts will mean treating government agencies and sunscreen-pushers with the contempt they deserve.
