The ever-growing ‘Bad Back Industry’ usually urges sufferers to try ointments, chiropractors, acupuncture, magnets, vibrating beds, hot baths, cold packs and a whole range of new wonder “cures” which seem to appear daily. Most of these don’t appear to work. However, I have heard consistently good reports from people who, after suffering for years from episodes of back pain, have gained long-term relief through a simple daily exercise program developed by Kass Antanaitis, BSc. The daily regime that he proposes consists of five easy and non-stressful exercises, mostly performed sitting down, which take no more than five minutes a day to complete. The booklet accompanying Kass’ Better Back Program, also offers some sound information explaining how good diet and drinking sufficient water will further relieve many back problems.
