To stop Windows from running the Error Reporting Service,
- Right-click the “My Computer” icon on the desktop
- Click “Properties” and select the “Advanced” tab
- Under the “Advanced” tab, click “Error Reporting”
- Select “Disable error reporting” and check the box for “but notify me when critical errors occur
